Arianna Boddy, Psy.D.
Dr. Arianna Boddy is a clinical psychologist who obtained her Psy.D. from Nova Southeastern University in 2015. While in graduate school, she had a variety of experiences working with children and adolescents in a community mental health setting, psychoeducational and psychological testing center, and residential eating disorder facility. During her internship in Boston, she worked in a crisis center, community mental health agency, and therapeutic day school. Since then, she worked in Knox County Schools conducting psychoeducational testing and participating with the crisis response team. She decided to embark on a new adventure opening Knoxville Behavioral & Mental Health Services in 2018 before merging businesses with Galyon Psychological Services. She particularly skilled in psychoeducational and psychological testing as well as therapy working alongside pre-adolescents, adolescent, young adults, and parents of teens, who feel stuck and in the trenches of family dynamics, significant relationships, life circumstances, and/or mental health conditions. She relies heavily on interpersonal approach utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and trauma informed therapy, such as, trauma-focused CBT and attachment-regulation-commitment (ARC). 1. What was your first real job?:
Knox County Schools.
2. What has been your favorite book and why?:
The Awakening; This was my first introduction about women's roles in society and femininity.
3. How do you describe your sense of humor?:
Hmm....quirky! Apparently, I am funny but don't try or attempt to be.
I tend to work with pre-adolescent, teens, or young struggling with interpersonal difficulties whether it be BPD, bipolar disorders, depression, and anxiety. I particularly like testing and working with individuals with a type of mood disorder.
5. What kind of patient would you like to see more?:
Same as the above. I love what I do and who I work with.
6. What would you like KAPA to provide in the future?:
I am unsure at this time since I am new to KAPA. Sorry!
7. What guilty pleasure can you not live without?:

COVID 19.
